ROUGH CUTS

Clifton Chenier was one of the forefathers of Zydeco, a genre of music native to Louisiana Creoles. It blends their indigenous music with the blues. This editorial piece exclusively uses typographic elements to mimic the melodies and harmonies of Chenier's music, and their rhythmic nature. It also references the unique style of Zydeco dancing, which utilizes strange steps and kicks, just like the letterforms step and kick around each other.
